Adopting is easy!
Our dogs are adoptable across Europe, Switzerland, and the UK, and we’ll arrange everything for you. The adoption process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the dog’s location and transportation logistics. Dogs coming from countries with a high rabies risk (e.g. Turkey, Morocco) need to go through a slightly longer health check than dogs from EU countries like Greece.
Please take some time to fill out our Adoption Form and tell us about the dog you’re interested in. Alternatively, we can help you find your perfect match—there are many dogs looking for homes at our partner shelters! Our questionnaire may seem long and detailed, but we simply want to understand more about you, your lifestyle, and the environment the dog will live in. As a rescue, our adoption process is thorough because we want to ensure that we match dogs to families where they can thrive for life.
After reviewing your adoption form, if we believe you could provide a suitable home for the dog, we’ll invite you to a video call. This allows us to meet you, answer any questions you may have about the adoption process, and ensure that you and your chosen dog are a good match!
If all goes well and you’re ready to proceed with the adoption, we will arrange the dog’s transportation. We usually recommend that adopters travel to pick up their new dog. However, if you’re unable to travel, we have two alternative options: we can try to find a flight volunteer to bring the dog to your country, or we can arrange for the dog to be delivered by road. We work with trusted pet taxi partners who safely transport adopted pets across Central Europe to their new owners.
All dogs come with passports, are microchipped, and are fully tested for any important medical issues before adoption. They are vaccinated (against rabies and other diseases), dewormed, and treated for ticks and fleas. They are also spayed or neutered when they are old enough.
Please note that there is an adoption fee, and we do not make any profit from this. The fee covers the dog’s travel arrangements and any necessary health checks before travel. It typically ranges from 650€ to 850€, depending on factors like the dog’s country, size, airline, and flight availability. Keep in mind, if you are unable to afford these costs, you may struggle to cover the dog’s everyday needs, such as food, veterinary care, medication, or daycare services. While our adoption fees are much lower than buying a dog from a breeder, remember that you’re getting a new best friend, who will hopefully live many happy years with you!
