We were informed of two puppies abandoned in a field in Greece. Two female hunting dogs, around 8 months old. Unfortunately one of them got hit by a car and fractured her pelvis. We were told that Cali sat next to her injured sister to watch over her and protect her.
Hunting dogs in Greece spend their entire lives in cages or chained and are often injured and malnourished. They are never treated as pets, only as tools, and when they get old, sick, hurt, or when they cannot get the job done, they are dumped and left to die. Hunting dogs make one third of the rescue dogs in shelters, and when it comes to adoption, they are never a priority.
Cali is one of them. She is a medium size dog, around 15kg and spayed.
Cali is a very friendly, playful and happy dog. In a perfect world, we would love her to be adopted with her sister.
Cali has found a family, but we have 22 other dogs looking for a home.
